Intriguing Office Objects vol. I - 7/12/12

THE EDWARDIAN LETTER-HEAD PRESS

Augustus Hare HQ currently resides in the smoking room of Wyken Hall, an Elizabethan manor house in rural Suffolk.  The room is filled with intriguing objects, passed down from previous generations.  The journal series starts with this Edwardian letter-head press. It was used to quickly emboss any notes and details the very early telephone number for the house: 'Stanton 240'.

Each week another beautiful object from the past will be added to the journal.
